3rd Council Meeting
It was moved that WUSA endorse the April 21 rally, to be held in Wollongong, with the demands ‘Real Justice for David Hicks and Close Guantanamo Bay’. The rally is being organised by Students Against War to highlight the ongoing injustice of the Hicks case and the gross abuses of human rights that continue in the prison.

That WUSA endorse the Stop Bush/APEC student conference that will be held in Sydney. The conference will seek to discuss and unite students across New South Wales in actions to help build the Stop Bush protest that will be held in Sydney on September 8.

2nd Council Meeting
It was moved that WUSA demands the immediate release of all refugees from Australian detention centers. That all people seeking asylum be processed on the Australian mainland. That Australia comply with the 1951 United Nations Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. That WUSA condemn both the Liberal Government and Federal Labor Party for supporting offshore processing of asylum seekers.

It was moved that WUSA condemn the welcome extended to US Vice President Dick Cheney by the Government and Opposition upon his visit to Australia. WUSA also condemns the comments of both Prime Minister John Howard, that it "would be the fault of the protesters if there is additional inconvenience to the people of Sydney" and Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd, that the protestors were "a bunch of violent ferals and they should expect absolutely no sympathy from the police," in relation to the protests surrounding the visit of Dick Cheney. WUSA also condemns the New South Wales police force for not allowing protestors their legal and democratic right to protest and march.

It was moved that WUSA sign on to the invitation inviting President Hugo Chavez to visit Australia. As an affiliate of the Australia Venezuela Solidarity Network, WUSA has sought to raise awareness of what is occurring in Venezuela and a visit by President Chavez, would only further that understanding and establish friendship and solidarity between the Australian and Venezuelan people.

It was moved that WUSA endorse the Invasion Anniversary Rally to be held on March 17 at Sydney Town Hall. Furthermore, WUSA also condemns the recent announcement by the Howard government that it is to send 70 more Australian troops to Iraq and calls on the Howard government to immediately withdraw all Australian troops and military personnel, in support of the right of Iraqi's to self-determination. That WUSA also condemn the escalation of the occupation of Iraq, through the US Government’s authorization of 21,500 more US soldiers to be sent to Baghdad and Anbar.

It was moved that WUSA condemn the continuing incarceration of David Hicks, who for 5 years has been held without charge by the United States government and calls on the Australian government to demand that he brought back to Australia immediately and that the Guantanamo Bay detention camp be closed.

It was moved that WUSA sign on to the international anti-war movement’s petition condemning the South Korean Government’s decision to ban the March 17 protests planned as part of the international day of action against the war in Iraq. This decision violates the right of South Koreans to freedom of expression and is part of a movement by pro-war governments around the world to suppress dissent to the ongoing and unjust occupation of Iraq.

1st Council Meeting
It was moved that WUSA endore the rally at Sydney Town Hall, 10am, Saaturday September 8, opposing the meeting of the Asia Pacific forum on Economic Cooperation (APEC). The demands for the rally entitled “stop this weapon of mass destruction” are: “troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan”, “Renewable energy, not wars for oil” and “Workers’ rights not slavery”. WUSA will also fully support and participate in any activities organised to build the rally as large as possible.

It was moved that WUSA endorse the Students Against War meeting in week two, raising student awareness about the ongoing role of the USA and Australia in Iraq and Afghanistan, including the US governments authorisation of 21,500 more US soldiers to be sent to Baghdad and Anbar.
