Indigenous

The Indigenous representative’s role with WUSA is to:

  • Facilitate advocacy for Indigenous students
  • Provide representation within the University and its’ community
  • Identify and respond to the various needs of Indigenous students
  • Promote participation in the intellectual life of the University
  • Promote information sharing and other activities of a social, cultural, intellectual or professional nature
  • Contribute to the development of student movements and activities.

The Indigenous representative can facilitate assistance when dealing with:

  • University staff
  • Student rights issues
  • ABSTUDY
  • Centrelink and other welfare issues

The role of Indigenous Representative also involves the planning and organisation of Indigenous specific events on and off campus.
